Questions
Frequently asked questions
What should a variation register contain?
Instruction reference, scope, valuation basis, cost build-up, programme effect, status, approval route and payment treatment. Each line should lead to a folder holding the supporting records.
How do you track delayed payments on a construction contract?
By recording, for each payment certificate, the amount certified, the due date, the date paid and the balance outstanding, with any contractual consequences of late payment noted for escalation.
What goes into an executive commercial report?
The key risks, the current exposure, claim and variation status, upcoming deadlines and the decisions required, on one or two pages with detail behind it.
How often are reports issued?
That depends on the engagement mode. Under monthly commercial support, reporting is normally monthly.
