Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is remeasurement?
On a remeasurement contract the quantities in the Bills of Quantities are estimates. The work actually executed is measured, and payment follows the measured quantities at the contract rates. Remeasurement keeps the account accurate as the works change.
How is a final account prepared?
By assembling the measured work, adjusting provisional sums and quantities, adding agreed variations and substantiated claims, reconciling payments made and retention, and presenting the result with its supporting records. Our close-out checklist lists the documents.
What does CEACM measure on a water pipeline project?
Pipework and fittings, chambers, valves, pumping and tank works, ancillary civil works and the associated testing and commissioning items, according to the contract's measurement rules. The exact scope depends on the contract.
What is a cost-to-complete report?
An estimate of the money still to be spent to finish the works, compared with the contract sum and the remaining payments, so that management sees the likely final position early.
